This blog will explore some of the lesser known and hidden heritage sites of the Furness Peninsula in Cumbria. Members of the Iron Shepherds Living History group will take you on a trip to these heritage gems providing you with information as well as images. Iron Shepherds is a living history group based in the Furness Peninsula of Cumbria, not far from the Lake Distirct, aiming to educate and entertain through demonstrating crafts, weaponry and the life of people in our chosen period, the 1140s.PARSED CONTENT
The site states the following, "Welcome to Iron Shepherds Living History where we bring the past into the present through unique living history displays and demonstrations." We observed that the web site stated " We are based in the Furness peninsular of Cumbria, not far from the Lake District, and we educate and entertain through demonstrating crafts, weaponry and farming of our chosen period of history, the 1140s." It also stated " We have a fully functional Anglo Norman Camp ready and waiting to be set up at any event! Find us on Social Media. 25th, 26th August 2015." The header had living history as the highest ranking keyword. This keyword was followed by re-enactment, Medieval, and Norman which isn't as urgent as living history.
